Cremation Services

Cremation has been part of society since approximately 3000 B.C. The use of cremation is increasing in the United States. The word "cremation" means to reduce the body to ashes and bone fragments. This occurs through the application of intense heat. Cremation is an irreversible process, but one that allows a family to have a great deal of flexibility for date, time and place of memorial service and interment. In addition, cremation allows a family to choose some unique ways to bury the ashes, or cremains, of the loved one.

Urns

Urns are the containers that hold the remains of the deceased. They can be ordered in a variety of shapes and sizes, and can be made out of porcelain, bronze, stone, wood, or metal.

Special Containers

Families can choose to inter the ashes of their loved one in objects or containers that have been in the family or that have had special meaning for the person. This can be discussed with us, and we help you choose an appropriate vessel. Special containers may not be necessary if you choose to scatter the ashes. We can help you with these decisions, if you wish.

Caskets

Often a family chooses to have a viewing prior to cremation or to have the body present for services. In that case, we have a selection of caskets designed for cremation.

Jewelry Keepsakes

Families can choose to have the remains of their loved one encased in a unique way -- such as having a "diamond" made from their ashes. Feel free to ask us about the many ways in which to keep your loved one close to your heart.
